Regular Bloodwork is Mission-Critical

Baseline labs turn guesswork into a plan—and help you track what’s actually working.

I’m often asked why I emphasize bloodwork so strongly—especially for women. Here’s the short answer: men’s hormonal optimization can often be straightforward; women’s biology is more complex. Pregnancy, postpartum shifts, perimenopause, and menopause create more moving parts—and bigger consequences when things fall out of sync. That’s exactly why baseline labs and regular follow-ups matter.
What bloodwork does for you
Identifies where symptoms are coming from—before making changes
Establishes a personal baseline so you can measure progress
Reduces trial-and-error with supplements, hormones, and protocols
Guides timing, dosing, and when to adjust (or not)
A smart starting panel (tailor to your history and medications)
Sex hormones: Estradiol (E2), Progesterone, Total & Free Testosterone, SHBG, DHEA-S, Pregnenolone
Thyroid: TSH, Free T4, Free T3, Thyroid antibodies (TPO, Tg)
Metabolic: Fasting insulin, Fasting glucose, A1c, Lipid panel (consider LP(a), ApoB), CMP
Inflammation & nutrients: hs-CRP, Ferritin + iron panel, Vitamin D (25-OH), B12, CBC, homocysteine
Timing tips
Cycling: coordinate labs to your cycle for the most useful readout (I’ll advise you on the best window).
Peri/postmenopause or no cycle: test any day; consistency over time is key.
On new therapy: recheck typically every 8–12 weeks; once stable, 2–3×/year.
How to get this done
If you have a clinician, request the panel and timing above.
If you don’t, reply to this email—I can help you select the right panel and point you to a reputable local lab or direct-access option.
When you have your results, I’ll walk you through what they mean and map a plan that prioritizes sleep, nutrient-dense food, and structured training—before layering in targeted supplements or peptides.
If you’re ready to stop guessing and start measuring, reply “LABS” and I’ll send next steps.

P.S. Already on HRT or thyroid medication? Staying safe and effective means testing on a schedule—especially during any dose changes.
